Every year, some of the brightest minds in technology, finance, and entrepreneurship gather in Nairobi for the Africa Tech Summit Nairobi 2026. The summit has become one of the continent’s leading spaces for conversations around innovation, investment, policy, and the future of Africa’s digital economy. It is where founders, operators, investors, and industry leaders come together to assess the current tech climate while shaping what comes next.
The 8th edition of Africa Tech Summit, held from 11–12 February 2026, focused on accelerating investment and digital transformation across the continent. This year’s conversations reflected a maturing ecosystem, with a stronger emphasis on profitability, sustainability, and products that deliver real, measurable impact. It was no longer just about ideas or ambition; it was about solutions that work.
That is why Pesa was proud to attend as a Silver Sponsor, with our Co-Founder, Wale Afolabi, delivering a keynote titled "Building Global Payment Infrastructure in Africa: Solving Local Problems at Global Scale."

“Trade is a prerequisite for peace, and for there to be peace on the African continent, trade is a necessity, not a nice-to-have.” — Wale Afolabi.
Also present at the summit were members of the founding team and wider staff, all there to share how Pesa is helping bridge payment gaps for individuals and businesses across borders. In a world where people live globally, work remotely, support families abroad, and run businesses across multiple countries, moving money should be simple, and Pesa exists to make that possible.
What Tangible Impact Looks Like at Pesa
Economic connection creates opportunity, and opportunity creates stability. When businesses can trade easily, when freelancers can receive payments quickly, and when families can support one another across borders without friction, everyone benefits.
Pesa was built to remove the barriers that often slow down cross-border payments, such as long processing times, hidden fees, limited currency access, and a generally tedious transfer process. Instead, Pesa offers users a faster, more flexible way to send, receive, hold, and convert money globally.
Whether it is an individual sending support home, a remote worker receiving income from overseas, or a business paying suppliers abroad, Pesa helps transactions happen in minutes, not days.
An Immersive Experience for Attendees and New Pesa Users
To enhance the experience and make the most of our time at the summit, we set up a booth where attendees could learn more about Pesa’s products, ask questions, and get immediate support from team members. Visitors also had the chance to pick up some free Pesa merchandise.

Africa Tech Summit goes beyond conversations. It is a valuable space for building connections, expanding networks, and introducing both your products and people to a wider community of users.

Introducing Pesa Business
As trade across Africa and beyond continues to grow, businesses need financial tools that keep pace with their ambitions. That is where Pesa Business comes in.
Pesa Business was created to broaden the horizons of doing business in Africa by making global payments simpler and more efficient. Businesses using Pesa Business gain access to a multi-currency account designed to support modern international operations.
